I'm a HUGE fan of orchestral numbers, it's because I'm refined and British. While I'm sipping my tea and waging war on the French I've decided to entertain the colonies with this little thread about Classical and Orchestral pieces. Personally my favorite Orchestral piece(s) is a draw... The opening theme song(s) to Oblivion and Morrowind. Morrowind's theme was a truly impressive work, I got lost in it and MANLY TEARS were shed when I first fired up the game and refused to leave the menu for ten minutes. It captures the mood of elder scrolls very well: HUGE FANTASY EPIC. The song starts like your character, a small but recognizable and somewhat beautiful melody, yet it grows into something that can shape the world, powerful beyond measure yet still that recognizable little melody you heard in the beginning. Oblivion's theme is interesting because it's the same theme, but much more powerful and at a much faster pace, and with the strong and seemingly dark overtones, fitting the game's menacing theme of a sinister future and the seemingly insurmountable task you (the protagonist) have ahead of you. You still can hear that faintly recognizable theme from Morrowind though in the opening movements of the song, reminding you that this is the same powerful fantasy epic that Morrowind was (kinda...) I didn't entirely specify these as individual pieces because they're technically the same piece, though played in different ways, so I'm not sure if this is truly a tie for my favorite classical/orchestral number.

Uh... Does Requiem for a Dream count as classical music?

I think it was made using some form of music arranging program, but it counts

aww Cubie, I didn't know you were such a big softie! Personally, I like Yo-Yo Ma. If there's one musical instrument that brings me to my knees, it's the Cello.

I think it was made using some form of music arranging program, but it counts I'll go with that then. I'm not all that knowledgeable with classical music.
