What do you feel is the best way to define I True Gamer? I myself believe that a True Gamer is someone who can have fun with whatever game he/she likes playing. Be it an FPS or RPG or whatever else is out there. Someone who doesn't care about winning or losing, but instead care mainly about how much fun they're having playing.
That's what I think. What are you thoughts?

That's a cointoss for me, in the fact that it can be both a derisive remark or a compliment.
Complementing someone on being a true gamer would refer to their ability to play video games of all types with relative competence while still being able to lead a normal life and not get labelled with the negative usage of "Gamer". Someone who's just as likely to pick up a call of duty or GTA game as they are likely to fire up their old NES and blitz Kirby or sit down on their computer for a rivetting match of RUSE or Starcraft 2.
Inversely, a true gamer can be an insult, for example the lifeless, gelatinous masses playing World of Warcraft can be considered "True Gamers", as can the many consoletards that spend all their time spent shouting "FAGGYFAG" into their headsets while bumbling around in modern warfare 2.
What Meress describes is what I'd call a regular gamer, because most of the people I know are people who fall into that category... except for one of my friends who will not shut up about "Frame-Rate" in Fighting Games.

That sounds more like a Hobby or Casual Gamer. Someone who plays to entertain him/herself after a day of work.
That is what my friend and I call a Stereotypical Gamer. A person who falls into what most "normal" people who don't play games see most gamers as even when we're not all like that.
Regular/True/Real Gamer are all the same in my basic opinion. I do see minor deference between them, but not enough to throw them into their own category

well we can civilly disagree on opinions, I would view myself as a true gamer due to playing videogames since the formative years of my childhood, though I'd fall into more of the casual category since I seek personal enjoyment from video games, though my attitude towards the effort I put into games would label me as a casual gamer and I prefer multiple genres and systems without seeking the latest and greatest hardware or arguing that my specific plastic idol is better than anyone else's. hell I'm getting a goddamn wii second hand, that's punishable by death in the eyes of most gamers.
